Nutrition Therapy
Proper nutrition is a critical component in the alcohol and drug addiction recovery process as it lays the foundation for restoration of both physical and mental health.
Substance abuse generally leads to lack of optimal nutrition as a result of not eating enough or taking food that lacks sufficient nutrients. Lack of specific nutrients in the body can give symptoms similar to depression, anxiety or a feeling of low energy all of which can act as triggers for relapse. A healthy diet and a proper nutrition program are therefore, key components in the attainment and maintenance of sobriety.
Our resident nutritionist provides individualised comprehensive nutritional education and assistance to our clients and we strive to provide diet plans that are specific to our client needs throughout the residential phase of rehabilitation.
